Gibbs Salvage is a family owned and operated recycling center that opened its doors in 1972 and since then, has been providing quality recycled parts to the north central Alabama area.

Located in a small suburban town called Ridgeville, Alabama which is near Attalla, Alabama, We specializing in late model domestic and imported cars, trucks and vans.

Gibbs Salvage has always been a family-based and owned business with currently over 75 ACRES of foreign and domestic cars, trucks, vans, and buses ranging in years from the early 1950s to current 2000 year.

We carry a complete line of engines, transmissions, body and interior parts, glass and accessories. Most of our inventory comes with a 15 or 30 day limited warranty.

Our Employee are:

James “Bo” Gibbs Sr: James “Bo” Gibbs is the driving force behind Gibbs Salvage. Bo has over 35 years experience in the salvage and automotive business including  automotive parts and service and scrap metal recycling.

In 1972, “Bo” purchased his first car for $35 and used it for parts. He received so many requests for parts off that one car  that he decided that he needed to start a business. 

The original name of the business was Gibbs Brothers Junkyard and at that time was ran by Bo and his Brothers, Charles Gibbs and Kenny Gibbs until 1986.

In 1986 when “Bo’s” Children were old enough to work in the junkyard, “Bo” decided to change the name to Gibbs Salvage and today it still bares the same name.

Owner: James “Bo” Gibbs whom was a Vietnam Veteran, 1966 Graduate of Norris High School, 1972 Graduate of Gadsden State Vocational School in Auto Mechanics (AAS Degree), and 1974 Graduate in Brick Masonry.
Bo also worked for Gulf State Steel from 1966 to 2000 when the Plant was shut-down.

His Sons:

Alan Gibbs: Alan is “Bo” oldest son. He is a 1986 graduate of Etowah High School , attended Gadsden State Technical  College majoring in auto mechanics, and was employed at Gulf State Steel for 10 years until the plan shut down.

Rodney Gibbs: Rodney is a 1989 graduate of Etowah High School and currently along with being employed at the “yard” work for Kabco Builders.

James “Jamie” Gibbs Jr: Jamie was voted Auto Mechanic of the Year for 2006. (See News)

Kevin “Bitty” Gibbs:”Bitty” along with working on the “yard” also works for Kabco Builders.

Other Salvage Team Members:

Johnny “Frankie” King: “Frankie” has been working for “Bo” for over 20 years.

Office Personnel are made up of the Gibbs Ladies and Welcome each and every one of you to come visit the “Yard”  or email or call for parts.

Vehicles Purchases are within a 100 mile radius of Gibbs Salvage and previous must be made for a vehicle purchase inspection.
